I am...
Double bassist & Double bass teacher
I studied double bass in my hometown of Badajoz, Spain, and then specialized in the instrument at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid with Antonio García Araque and Duncan McTier.
During my internship at the Orquesta-Escuela of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, I developed my orchestral skills in all kinds of performances and genres, such as symphonic, chamber and pedagogical concerts, operas and even puppet shows on the stage of the Teatro Real.
As a guest double bass player I have worked in many orchestras throughout Spain. The Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid, the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española and the Orquesta Nacional de España are some examples. In the 15/16 season I got a double bass tutti position at the Orquesta de Extremadura.
Since 2016, my pedagogical career has been developing, teaching double bass and chamber music at Bachelor level in several spanish conservatories and preparing orchestral bass groups in various young orchestras.
Since 2019 I work as a freelance musician in Switzerland, where I perform as a double bass player in various ensembles (e.g. City Lights Orchestra, Orchestra La Compagna, Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden, Orchester vom See, Zürcher Kammerphilharmonie, Sointu Music, QuartettoBasso) and I also teach double bass privately.
My interest in historical performance practice led to performances with various ensembles and projects with the 16' violone.
